It is very much important to develop a child at a young age where their interests are still fresh and broad. This particular program helps to introduce science and its importance to children as young as 5/6 years old. Working with children is always fun because their imagination is endless and they are always interested in “why” certain things exist.
The program visits local primary schools to create science awareness. The ECD team visited Makapane Primary School in Boipatong where they had an educational lesson with the grade R’s. The lesson was to create science awareness in a more easy and understandable way. One way in which the experiment was to suit their understanding was using pampers to highlight how water is absorbed. Over and above, the learners had so much fun and actively participated in the lesson.
